Who is
GAMIAN-Europe?

We are a patient-led organisation that believes that patients play a crucial role in shaping policies, research and spearheading initiatives that enhance mental health services and support systems throughout Europe.

Our efforts prioritise advocacy, information and education, destigmatisation, co-creation, partnerships and capacity
building.

Our focus is:

To improve the provision, reliability and quality of information

on mental ill-health for patients, relatives and carers.

icons2

To reduce stigma, prejudice, and misinformation

surrounding mental ill-health.

To promote collaboration within the mental health field

amongst those working in research, education/training and service provision at national and pan European levels.

To promote collaboration within the mental health field

of the public, policymakers and the media with regard to mental ill-health conditions.

GAMIAN-Europe focuses on the comorbidity of cancer and mental health because emotional and psychological challenges are common among cancer patients, but often neglected in care. We advocate for integrated, person-centred support that addresses both physical and mental health needs, in line with our mission to ensure mental health is prioritised across all areas of healthcare.

As part of our ongoing work, we’ve created a new information hub – the perfect place for you or someone you care about to find the mental health resources needed during this crucial time.
